Freddie the Feral

Freddie the Feral is a super handsome Brown Tabby with a white nose and white socks. One of AID's fosters who cares for the community cats in his neighborhood noticed Freddie spending a lot of time laying in one spot under a tree and sounding very congested while trying to breathe through his nose. When he was finally trapped to TNR, it was discovered that Freddie is FIV+ and suffering from a condition called feline plasma cell pododermatitis or "Pillow Foot" which is a skin disease that causes a cat’s paw pads and nose to become swollen and painful. Unmanaged, the paw pads may crack and grow ulcers which need surgical intervention. This condition requires routine courses of steroids, antibiotics, and a special limited ingredient diet to manage. Due to his needs, Freddie could not be returned to his life outdoors without great suffering. Freddie now lives in a foster home and his paw-pads and nose are looking mighty-fine. While he may enjoy the company of his feline room-mates, he is not fond of human companionship which does not make him super adoptable. You can support Freddie's special diet and medication regimen by becoming his sponsor.
